Romans 11:33-36

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Hope Springs Eternal

It’s hard to say that spring is in the air as the weatherman is predicting snow tonight here in southern West Virginia. But the threat of snow and ice can do nothing to put a damper on the excitement of opening day. Even though freezing temperatures will knock most of the bloom off of the fruit trees, the crack of the bat in stadiums across the country warms the heart.

Each year at this time, my Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies have as much chance to make the post season as the Evil Empire (aka: Yankees). With each new season, hope is placed in new acquisitions and young kids fresh off the farm.

As spring will fade into the dog days of summer, hope will either begin to become reality or quickly turn to despair. But those days are down the road. For now, the Braves have the best record in the majors (1-0) and the Rockies are tied for second (0-0).

Play Ball!
