Good morning! Today's time renewing our minds by the Word is in John 13:1-5.

Father,

It is no accident t that the Passover feast. when the lamb was killed to celebrate Israel's liberation from Egypt  is when Jesus died for my freedom from sin (1). Help me love like You (1), endure suffering (2), and serve others (5), because I know my salvation is completely in Jesus' hands and I know I get to be with You forever (3).

Grow my belief in You (44). Help my eyes see You more (45). Shine Your light into every corner of my life to make me like You (46). Save many by causing my mouth to speak Your very Words about eternal life today (47-50).

Thank You that You let me know Your strong saving power (38). Thank You for opening my eyes to my need for Jesus, softening my heart to His call, and healing my soul of sin (40). Display Your glory to me and through me today (41-43).

Lord,

Give me a heart to see Jesus (21). Give me the courage and desire to die to self so I will produce fruit that remains (24). Help me follow You (26) by not praying to escape hardships that bring You glory (27-28). Draw people to Christ by displaying His greatness in me (32).

Father, prepare me to be targeted by the enemy on account of Jesus (9-11). Help me, my King, live to serve You today (12-15). Grow my grasp of You (16) and don't let me stop testifying of Your life-giving power (17-18) so that the world may seek Jesus and live (19).

Lord,

Let my life today be an offering that is: sacrificial, Christ-exalting (3), and timely (7), filling my world with the sweet fragrance of life in Christ (3). Let my motive be my love for Christ, not self (4-6).

Today's time in the Word is in John 11:45-57. 

Father,

Show me the difference between belief in Jesus and just talking about what He has done (45-46). Have free reign in me today so that all people will believe in Jesus (48). Thank You that Jesus died for the SINS of God's children (49-52).

(I found it interesting that the Sanhedrin wanted to kill Jesus because they thought it would reunite scattered Israel, misinterpreting what the high priest prophesied when he said "one man should die for the people.)

Today's time shaped by the Word is in John 11:38-44.

Lord,

Don't let me forget that I was spiritually dead and my life smelled repulsive before you came and made me alive (38-39). Let others see Your glory in my life today (40). Let my Words today be for those who need to believe that You sent Jesus to save them (42). Don't let me continue to walk around, alive in Christ, but still wearing the grave clothes from when I was spiritually dead (44).

Lord,

Use me today to tell others that Jesus is calling to them (28). Let me not hesitate to run to Jesus and fall at His feet when He calls for me (29-32). Thank You for letting me speak my heart to You (32). Keep me angry at the destructive nature of sin (33). Lead me to weep with those who weep (35) and let the world see Your love for them in me today (36).

Today's time devoted to being made even more like Christ is in John 11:17-27. 

Lord,

In my hardships, let me be like Martha and run to You immediately (20). Let my prayers be as honest and faithful as Martha's (21-22). Don't let me ever forget the difference between knowing the fact of the resurrection (24), and knowing the personal source of my resurrection in Christ (25). Let Christ's life be lived out in me today.

Happy Labor Day. Today's time shaped by the Word is in John 10:31-42. 

Father,

Make me willing to face repeated abuse for the truth (31) that Jesus is fully man and fully God (33). I praise Jesus as God. He is not just called "a god" as an earthly ruler representing God's rule (see Ps 82), Jesus IS the divine ruler (34-36). Help others see Your powerful works in me and believe (37-38).
