Today's time being reminded of God's mysterious ways is in Acts 8:1-3.

Lord,

Thank you for using the suffering in Acts 8:1 to continue fulfilling Acts 1:8. It is not a new thing for the faithful to grieve over loss brought by sin while the lost scheme against the faithful (2-3). Don't let me be a part of their schemes (1). Instead, keep me faithful in the midst of their schemes.

Today's time reminded of the offense of the gospel is in Acts 7:54-60. 

Father,

The lost don't want to hear that sin is responsible for Jesus' death (54) or that Jesus is the Lord before whom they must bow (56). When they attack me for speaking truth, control me by Your Spirit, keep my focus on Jesus' glory (55), strengthen my hope that You hold me securely (59), and help me want You to forgive them (60).

Father,

Don't allow me to resist being turned by You toward holiness. Purify my wants and help me hear You clearly (51). Help me see the Righteous One clearly and long for His coming (52). May my life honor Your Law to love You most and to love others as naturally as I love myself (53).

Let the church (Your dwelling place) be built exclusively according to Your commands (44). Thank You that because of Your gracious favor toward me, i WANT to be built into Your holy house (46). Your favor is FOR my holiness, not BY my holiness.

Father,

Help me to be patient when the enemy afflicts me, trusting that you are training me for the work You have for me (v.17-22). Give me patience when Your own people do not understand the work to which You have called me (v.23-28). Let a clear sense of Your holiness and purpose compel me to trust and obey as You send me out to lead others to freedom (v.29-36).

Use people who betray me (v.9), the favor of powerful people (v. 10), famine, and great suffering (v.11) to accomplish Your redemptive will in this world even if I die still waiting for it to be fulfilled (v. 15-16).

Help me to identify rightly the source of conflicts in my life (v. 1), make clear what I cannot afford to give up as I seek a solution (v. 2, 4), help me partner with godly people for help (3), and let the solution be pleasing and fruitful for the increase of Your rule in me and in this world (7).
