Please join me in prayer for the family of Dr. Fred Winters. Dr. Winters, or Pastor Fred as he was known, was shot and killed while standing in the pulpit of First Baptist Church Maryville, IL, during the 8:00 service on Sunday morning. His wife Cindy and his daughters Alysia, 14, and Cassidy, 12, as well as the church family he leaves behind need the comfort and peace that only Christ can give them in this time.

Philip Roberts, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President; Thom Rainer, LifeWay Christian Resources President; and Chuck Lawless, dean of the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
