Romans 11:33-36

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Summer Family Time

Summer is a time for families—or is it? Already this summer, my son was on a mission trip for a week and my daughter is off at the Governor’s School of the Arts for three weeks. Shortly after she gets back, they will both head off to Missions Camp for a week. Then before we know it, school will be starting again! Between camps and practices and all the other busyness of life, family time in the summer can be as scarce as it is throughout the rest of the year.

Our year-round busy schedules only emphasize the importance of making time for our families. Set time aside in your schedule. Even make an appointment with your kids if you need to!

Of all the quality time you can spend together as a family, one time is more important than any other. If you are a “bottom-line” person, this is the time where you will get the most “bang for the buck”. The most important quality time you can spend together as a family is the time you spend together in worship. Regularly attend church together as a family. I guarantee that it will make things better at home by improving your relationship with your spouse and with your kids.

At Brushfork Baptist Church, our emphasis this summer is on the family. On Sunday mornings throughout the summer, we will be having timely messages on what the Bible says about family relationships. They will be filled with practical information on how to improve your marriage and parenting skills. If you don’t have a church home and are looking to carve out a little quality time with your family, we invite you to spend some time with us.
